Mixed Use Development
A new high-end mixed use development in the heart of Oxted, Surrey. Located on Station Road, the 4-storey development combines commercial space on the ground floor with twelve high-end 2 and 3-bed apartments above.
Building construction comprises a steel and precast concrete podium structure over the ground floor commercial units, to satisfy progressive collapse requirements, with pre-cast concrete floors, and load-bearing masonry walls making up the floors above.
This exclusive town-centre mixed use development project has been commissioned by Regency and Co. Limited. The development team includes construction contractors Robust Developments and project manager Morgan Consulting.
RYALL Structural Engineers are providing full structural and civil engineering services across the project.
Demolition works are currently underway on site and completion is due at the end of 2026.
Engineering Challenges
The main challenges were engineering the new building structure over an existing basement and addressing potential issues related to disproportionate collapse.
