We are excited to announce that we have a significant new Industrial Unit structural engineering project going to site.

RYALL Structural Engineers has been appointed by Kent Structures to provide structural engineering input on a new steel frame industrial unit for Church & Dwight. The international consumer goods company is recognised for brands such as Arm & Hammer.

The new Production Unit is being built at their extensive research and manufacturing site at Wear Bay Road (Bowles Well Gardens) in Folkestone, Kent.

Steel Frame Structural Engineering

It is a significant sized steel framed building with composite wall cladding, measuring in at 1758 m2. The building replaces an existing structure of a similar footprint, allowing the existing foundations to be kept where possible. To make this possible, rather than being portalised, the frame consists of sloping lattice trusses to remove lateral forces from the foundations. RYALL Structural Engineers will be providing structural calculations for the new building and the justification of the existing foundations, together with Steel Connection Designs.

Sustainable Design and Build

Replacing an existing structure, this building has been sustainably designed with recyclable steel and cladding, as well as Kingspan LEC (Low Embodied Carbon) utilised on the build.

The project is already progressing at a good rate with site set-up and ground preparation works underway prior to steel arriving on site.

We look forward to sharing site photos as work progresses. For all the latest updates, please follow us on LinkedIn and Facebook.

If you need structural engineering design, structural calculations or Steel Connection Designs for an Industrial or Commercial project, please get in touch. We have extensive experience in structural engineering for steel frame buildings on every scale.
